A few weeks ago Nick and I were going out on a date. I wanted something new to wear so I took Brooklyn and went shopping. I planned to get in and out but as usual, she had different plans. She grabbed a few shirts for me to try on and headed to the dressing room. After a few "No ways" we found one we both liked. I was ready to leave but Brooklyn looked at me and said, "Mom, you have to look fancy on a date." So an entire outfit later we left.
Five years ago today a little miracle came into my life that has been changing my plans ever since. But I learned something on that shopping trip. My daughter is also my friend. I love you Brooklyn!! You make my life better and you make me better. Happy Birthday, I look forward to many more shopping trips and many more changed plans.
